I've been seeing the infomercial with the <a href=http://yourbabycanreadreview.webs.com/>Your Baby Can Read</a> program and are very intrigued! But I'm never the kind of to just jump around the phone and order precisely what intrigues me. I did some quick research and have a look at some reviews - plus the result is mixed.
While it's great, and proven, that the children will often have positive results, "reading" words and recognizing what these are, but then I wonder should it be actual reading or only memorization. And even I have heard about The Hurried Child simply by David Elkin. I've never actually read the book, but I've learned regarding the results/outcome of his book in various courses throughout my schooling, K-12 and Uni.
The Your Baby Can Read program will depend on the fact that baby uses associations to understand new things. It will show them what the saying looks like, show them a picture from the word in action, and let the baby hear the sounds on the word in action too. So using the senses of sight and seem, your child is currently being entertained by seeing the many pieces come together.
Ever wonder why kids can learn a fresh language MUCH faster than you possibly can? Their brains are just targeted at learning language superior to ours at that age group, and there's no reason to stifle that. My kids are capable to excel in their schools because we started at this kind of early age, and this makes fewer problems for me in trying to help them with the homework.
I have seen the Your Baby Can Read infomercials countless times, but I was anxious to put it to use myself with my own toddler and discover the results.
I must admit, the Early Learning Workshop DVD that accompany the program, which you are encouraged to see before beginning this program using your child, is VERY overwhelming. It is long and unless you then have a great attention span (I do not) you may skip the DVD, read the Parents guide and just get started. |
